About the Designer

Kim King, designer, founder, and President of King Custom Homes & Design in Mesa since 1997 has built a revered reputation with his clients. With more than 20 years of experience in the home designing industry, the company has thrived on its reputation for complete client satisfaction.

"Building a home is all about what the client wants," King said. "We listen to our clients' ideas and imagination, and we partner with them to create the home of their dreams. Our design and build solutions are never the same because each client's needs are different."

King's career began when he received a degree in architectural design; he then set out to learn the tools of the trade from the ground up. He spent seven years with production builders working and observing every step of construction. He learned the importance of scheduling, selecting highly skilled, reliable subcontractors, and completing a job on time, within budget.

Unsatisfied with the inherent limitations of building tract homes, King joined a custom homebuilder as an architectural designer. His attention to detail and outstanding organizational skills quickly advanced him to the position of Vice President of the company. He gained experience in the design and construction of over a hundred homes and floor plans that would have taken him a lifetime to achieve on his own as a custom builder.
